WEEK 3 ROUNDUP

SENIOR FOOTBALL

SEAN TREACYS 3-10 BORUS 1-08
The scoreline didn't reflect fairly on Boru who clawed back a 5 point defecit after the half despite having Brian Reilly sent off for a second yellow. Having tied it up an upset looked on the cards but Treacys led by Steve Barron pulled away with a flurry of late scores.

ULSTER 0-15 CELTS 2-09
A late goal where keeper Benny Higgins was deemed to have caught the ball behind the line snatched a draw for Celts which was no more than they deserved. Indeed only for Higgins making some smart stops in the first half the story might have been different for Celts who led by a point at the half having dominated the game. A superb goal from Aidan O'Flynn was the highlight of the game. Ulster led by Greg Loughran pulled clear in the second half only to see their lead dissapear in some controversy.

SENIOR HURLING
Naomh Padraig 3-11 Na Fianna 1-08
NP took a 2 game lead in the best of 5 series in Senior Hurling. A win for Na Fianna in the rubber game on Sat July 24 is a must if last years Champions are to stay alive. Naomh Padraig look to have a little more firepower in the forward dept and will be favorites to take the title.

LADIES SENIOR FOOTBALL
FOG CITY HARPS 2-12 SAOIRSE 0-02
Fog City clinched the Senior Ladies title with a win over a brave Saoirse side in the 3rd game of the series. Saoirses predominantly home-grown talent will serve them well in years to come as they are still a little way off this level...all credit to them for giving it a go this year. Fog City now move on to defend their North American title in Chicago.

LADIES JUNIOR FOOTBALL
CLAN NA GAEL 1-06 SAOIRSE 1-05
Clan bridged a long gap in recording their first win in some time, amid jubilant scenes from players and fans alike.
