A changing of the guard took place last night at the San Francisco GAA AGM. Completing five years as the Western Board Chairman, Bertie Penny's term has come to an end. After a very successful 2017 National Championship hosted on Treasure Island and also spearheading the improvement of the financial accounts. Bertie and the board can be assured of a very positive return to SFGAA. Although he may have termed out as Chairman of the Board, he has graciously taken up the position as Board Treasurer. Liam Moloney has moved from Board Treasurer and has accepted the nomination to be the new Chairman of the Western Divisional Board. He was joined by Terry Tracey of the Ulster club as returning Vice-Chairman. Neal Fitzgerald also with the Ulster club has accepted the position of Board Secretary and who replaces outgoing Secretary Paul Keane. Paul graciously declined the nomination to continue as Board Secretary, but will still be busy within the GAA circles as he continues as Secretary of USGAA. Six out of the seven Board positions have been filled, as we await the appointment of a Recording Secretary. Ashling Bryant has stepped down as Recording Secretary after a mammoth ten year involvement with the Board. Ashling has been instrumental in the development and success of the Board. Her input and involvement on the Board will be missed.
