In August 2013, Tom Ross, 52, a native of Dunmanway, Co. Cork and longtime resident of San Francisco, received a devastating diagnosis of renal cancer. Within a month, Tom and his family discovered that his aggressive cancer had spread to his brain and spine. After thoughtfully considering their options for a peaceful and comfortable recovery, Tom, his wife Lorraine, and 10 year old daughter Cassie, made the difficult, heartfelt but, ultimately, best decision to return to the comfort and care of his family home in Cork.
Now confined to a wheelchair, Tom cannot work and he and his family face mounting costs associated with his palliative treatment and rehabilitative care. With the unconditional love and support of his family, Tom continues to fight valiantly and courageously. However, his prognosis for a full reovery remains very uncertain at this time.
We would truly value and apppreciate your critical support for the Ross Family. If you have any questions, please contact the committee at (415) 867-4974 or development@ststephenschoolsf.org. Thank you!
